GREEN LIGHT PROJECT DURING COMMONWEALTH YOUTH GAMES 2008

Under the Project inefficient and heat producing incandescent conventional Bulbs will be replaced by more energy efficient and environment friendly Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs).
This initiative of MIT Lighting Research Academy, Pune have been appreciated and approved by CYG authorities.For the purpose in the first phase, 10 Villages near Balewadi – venue for CYG - have been identified.
Ms. Crompton Greaves and Philips each have agreed to provide 500 CFLs for BPL families of 5 villages.
This project will be implemented by the students of MIT School of Lighting & Management Studies, Pune with the help of an NGO, SARATHI.
The First Phase of the Project will be completed before commencement of CYG’2008
